It’s official, she’s got a rotavirus. Thankfully, she hasn’t dropped weight (a sign of dehydration) and she hasn’t puked and there’s no temprature spike.
She has, however, had the MOST toxic dirrahea for the past 3 days, and the doctor said it could last for up to 10 days (UGH)!
She’s eating her formula, however, so that’s a good sign. And as you can see, she’s a happy happy girl, even at the doctor’s office.
And for the record – 20 pounds, 13 ounces. (ZOINKS) and 25 and one half inches – and she’ll be 5 months old on Wednesday…

I am so sorry that she has rotavirus. But glad to see she’s doing well otherwise. I hope that the toxic diarreah goes away soon! PU
Well at least she’s able to grin through it! She’s a total cutie.
I knew a family who had twin boys who weighed 25 lbs EACH by 5 months old, so she’s not alone in that weight category. Their mum had arms like popeye.

i think it is interesting how babies are all so different yet start out in the womb all the same…i was born on May 14, 1969 weighing in at exactly 5 pounds even and 17 inches long (i was full term too) and on my first birthday i only weighed 12 pounds and was 20.5 inches long…
when i had my twins they were both 21 inches long but one weighed a whopping 8 lbs 14 ounces and the other weighed in at 8 lbs 9 ounces…i was so young and stupid…lol…i had no idea that it was even possible to have babies that big come out of such a small place as i so eloquently told the labor and delivery nurse…
oh, and just so that you know a bit more about me, i was 18 when they were born and i placed them for adoption in an open adoption…they just turned 18 and have both graduated high school and have been accepted into ivy league universities…so i can know without a doubt that i did the right thing by giving them to the family i chose to raise…they did an awesome job…

You are so lucky! My daughter, Alice, has rotavirus right now & it’s awful! She threw up for 2 days and has had diarrhea for 6 days now…I agree- it’s sooo toxic! My partner fot sick as well and threw up for one night and felt flu-like for 3 days. Yuck! Alice is so listless; she’s normally not very cuddly, but she jsut lays in our laps all day. I feel bad for thinking it’s sweet, because I know how punk she feels. Glad Malka is getting through this with less drama! : )
uhhhh you know that continued formula feeding can worsen diarrhea, right? consider halving the content of the formula in the bottle and add pedialyte or water.
really? The doctor said to feed her whatever she’ll drink, and she only took the pedialyte the first day. She’s been drinking formula since.
We could go back to 1 and 3/4 scoops, instead of 2 full ones.
